Bai Yun is something of a ‘cougar’

Bai Yun, a panda at the San Diego Zoo, gave birth for the fifth time this week, and there’s video of it happening.
And here’s the fun part of the Union-Tribune’s story:
Bai Yun, according to the zoo, is something of a “cougar” – not the cat, but the contemporary female of a certain age who keeps herself in great shape.
“Bai Yun has always exhibited just really perfect panda behavior and is an incredibly healthy animal,” Owen said.
“We look at her in the den right now and she looks exactly the same as she did in 1999 after the birth of Hua Mei, and not much different than she did when she arrived in San Diego in 1996.”
Must be something about living in San Diego.
