Looks like the ones actually practicing bipartisanship in the post-partisan era are the conservatives.
In the House vote today on the presidents economic stimulus the nays carried members of both parties — while only Democrats voted yes. Unfortunately, the bill still passed.
All the Republicans voted against the $819 billion package along with 11 Democrats. Looks like Obama has some work to do within his own party.
Here’s a list of the Democrats that voted against the bill. Most are listed on the Blue Dog Coalition site.
- Allen Boyd, Florida 2nd
- Bobby Bright, Alabama 2nd
- Jim Cooper, Tennessee 5th
- Brad Ellsworth, Indiana 8th
- Parker Griffith, Alabama 5th
- Paul E. Kanjorski, Pennsylvania 11th
- Frank M. Kratovil, Jr., Maryland 1st
- Walt Minnick, Idaho 1st
- Collin Peterson, Minnesota 7th
- Heath Shuler, North Carolina 11
- Gene Taylor, Mississippi 4th
And, it looks like Bright, Griffith and Kratovil are freshmen. What, no Kool Aid? None of them are on the guest list for the president’s cocktail party tonight.
